Try Vegan® began as an idea that hit Vince Gulino at a Halloween party in 2014. He knew he wanted to spread the message of veganism and went on a mission to figure out how. He wrote a 40 page business plan and was about to start looking for investors for Try Vegan restaurant until he realized veganism was a tough sell in those days, most people hadn’t even heard of the word yet. He then realized he was 26, living at home, and had some savings so he decided to take the money he had saved toward purchasing a house and invested it in himself. It was not a lot of money, but enough for him to buy a few old shuttle buses to convert into food trucks. In May 2015 he quit his job and to begin converting the old shuttle bus into a food truck. After a long winding road, Try Vegan® made it’s debut September 19th 2015 at a food truck festival in Trenton, NJ.
Since then, the Try Vegan’s food trucks have been fortunate enough to vend at some of the biggest festivals on the east coast including Governor’s Ball, Meadow’s Music Festival, Moonrise Music Festival, NYC Pride, Imagine Festival, and EDC Orlando. All the while, Try Vegan is promoting knowledge and awareness with our “Did You Know” sign on display for thousands of onlookers.
Truck as we got it
Stickers Everywhere
Progress
Removing each sticker one by one
This was an accomplishment. The day every sticker was off the truck
But something had to be one with that paint job
Removing the wheelchair lift
That floor has got to go.
Much better
Yea. That looks good.
Placing the freezer and refrigerator
And the three bay sink
Three bay sink, Hand wash sink
More pictures of the floor and sparkling walls
Finally got the window cut out
Putting the trim on the window
Paint job before compounding and waxing
Welding the tanks in place the night before our first event
